CRUISING IN THE WINTERSUN, NAMBUCCA, 2006. JUNE 9TH-12TH QUEENS BIRTHDAY WEEKEND.

This will be our 4th annual get together on the NSW mid north coast. Last year we had 33 pts from NSW and QLD ... our biggest meet up on this part of the coast yet.

Like last year we are booked into the WHITE ALBATOSS HOLIDAY RESORT 0265686468 FAX 0265694698 Wellington Drive Nambucca Heads. A bulk booking was made last year for all cabins and waterfront villas in the clubs name untill the end of March. When booking you must must register in your own name but also tell them you are with ptcdu so you will get the 10 PERCENT discount that they have given all bookings, this will include any visitors /non members.

FRIDAY 9th JUNE - Some of us will be arriving on Friday Lyn, Max and myself will be there from about midday on the 9th. Dinner on Friday night will be at Nambucca RSL by way of the club's courtesy bus there and back, same as last year.


SATURDAY 10TH JUNE: we will wait for any extra NSW and QLD PTs to arrive ... bring your fishing gear to join the few who take part in this; the shops eg supermarket is close by for all your supplies grog shop is close by also. We will not be departing the resort on Saturday untill all PT's have arrived and booked in. Our destination for the day's activites will be RALEIGH INTRNATIONAL RACEWAY ... go karts, big foot atv rides, putt putt golf. This is booked for 12.30-1.00 pm ... the track is only 30 minutes from Nambucca, going north. We may be able to get our cars actually on the circuit for a lap for photos either when we arrive or at the finish. The track is ours for a few hours. Dinner Saturday night will be a bbq at the resort with a dress up theme like last year ANY IDEAS??? IT'S YOUR NIGHT FOR FUN ... KEEP IT SIMPLE.

SUNDAY I1TH we will be going out to Taylors Arm "The Pub with No Beer" we have been there before, 2years ago, but it has changed since then it now has its own brewery and the licensee is a PTCDU member who has a silver PT. There could very well be a band playing on the day on Australia Day for example when we were there they had Brian Cadd playing. Return back to the resort for a bbq there and kick back after the days run.

MONDAY 12TH: FAREWELL BREAKFAST at the bbq area as usual will not be as early as last year as we have not decided on a venue for today as yet we will do this on the day it will be by mutual ageement with the remaining members our crew will be staying monday night like last year all meals for bbqs are byo there is a shop for takeaway next door as well as a Tavern.

Rob & I try to cater for the majority. For any event that we have planned, is up to the individual as to whether they participate. We also attempt to choose events where people are in control of their costs.

We have done deals with Raleigh International Raceway. So as not to scare everyone off the costs are -

Entry is no cost.

Fun park ie 18 hole Putt putt golf, picnic areas, childrens playground, giant dominos and giant checkers Entry is $5.00 per person. (In peak season it is $20.00 for adults. However, this does include a swimming pool and water slides - which we will not be using in June)! There may be prizes.

There is another picnic area (which can observe the go karts) it has no cost.

The deal we have for the go karts start at $20.00 for 8 laps
11 laps is $27.00, 16 laps is $38.00, 24 laps is $50.00.
Single carts are for drivers 12 years & over.
Double carts are for drivers 16 years and over and passengers from 3 years old. Miniumum height 90 cm. Same price as single carts.
Suits & helmets are supplied. Closed in shoes are compulsary.

Big Foot Tractor Ride - Ride through bushland and paddocks, over watercourses, up & down hills (12 years & over) $12.00. Child (2 to 12 years) $8.00.

I went to the White Albatross last weekend to pay some more money on our accommodation.

I did notice that when you come into Nambucca, there are no more speed humps in the Main St. Although outside the Police Station where they have the tiled wall mural (those of you who have been before will know exactly where I am talking about), there is a very large hump where the new bitumen meets the concrete.

I'm glad that we took the everyday car on this occasion as our PT would never get over it without scraping as it is quite steep.

I would like to make a suggestion that if you have a car that is low you might like to enter Nambucca from the Highway at the South turnoff. This is where the Destiny Motel is and also the Visitor Information Centre.
This will bring you past the RSL where we had dinner on Friday night last year.

I thought that this bit of info might be usefull to those of you with lowered cars.

there are no speed humps we were in nambucca last week and all is ok.

Ray be nice to have the 40th PT . there is a green one owned by debbie wilson in grafton who Ispoke to last week about the run and club. also have been able to locate the whereabouts of a new loacal ex victorian inferno . met them late last week . Isort of distracted them by half hanging out the hiace on there side of the road . names of mike and pam ,very keen to join our club they have been trying to get in touch for some time . if Ican follow up opn these two it may give us 40 or 41 on a day
