HENK'S TRIBUTE RUN - COTM 09

With the blessing of Henk Heuving's family, wife Luise and 2 lovely daughters Peta & Emma and the NSW Committee from 2008 we named our run to Chryslers on the Murray and during the weekend as - " HENK"S RUN." This will continue each year now until such times the family ask us to stop.
For those who never met or knew of Henk, he was the Vice President of PTCDU NSW Inc and sadly we lost Henk 3 years ago, a day before Chryslers on the Murray.
I believe Henk was the life of the party, jovial and always up for a bit of fun.
I never met him personally but have heard so much Australia wide of this wonderful man.
During the weekend we will be flying Henk's colours ( Deep Cranberry & Gold ribbons ) from our aerials for those wanting to participate.
I have purchased ribbon already but those wanting to get there own to fly it on the way down then do so by all means.
Remember this is not a depressive thing or a procession of sadness but more a happy memory of a great bloke that he was.

I already have 15 ribbons left over from the ribbon I purchased previously and will be getting some more shortly that should cover for about 22 PT's. If we need anymore than that please make sure you add to Dot's post on COTM 09 attendance so I can keep a close count of what's needed.

Topic heading has been added to, to incorporate the name of the COTM 09 "Henk's Run."

Ribbons, not a problem. Where I bought them from last year changed suppliers and couldn't match the colours ( and that was a national store. )
Went to a little known independant lady in town who actually does wedding cakes of all things and she sourced over the past 10 days a supplier and I now have 20 mtrs of each colour, enough to do a couple of years AND for a bargain price. Pays to shop around.
Will do more than enough for those who want them. See me on the friday night or sat morning to collect them.

Ok, because I will be away from the computer for some time before COTM I thought it might be a good idea to post directions for those who are travelling alone to Albury or are 1st timers and not in a PT convoy on where to get off the Hume Hwy - especially if you don't have a GPS. And there a few travelling alone I believe.

Those coming from the NORTH from Sydney and are staying at the Crystal Fountain or the Classic Motor Inn or the Lavington Caravan Park you take the Lavington / Thurgoona exit and go right on the roundabout that is now on the highway overpass bridge. Continue on to the set of lights only a few hundred mts and turn left into Urana Rd. Follow this for approx 3 klms and you will see both motels on the left just past a Caltex servo also on your left. Be very careful on this section as the speed limit is 60 klms per hr and the cops love sitting there with there camers's. COTM weekend especially.

Those coming from Melbourne take the Jindera / Thurgoona exit and follow the above directions.

Remember if you don't have the latest maps in your GPS it goes crazy ( like mine ) as the new Albury bypass isn't in it hence that's why I'm putting this up to help those that need the directions.

And please don't forget don't drive with your FOGLIGHTS on, ( the new laws do exist in most states ) HEADLIGHTS ONLY, we don't want anymore stops by the couloured light brigade.
