Well this was my first time to the Murray Event and along with quite a few of our members. Must say we had a great time and it was great to catch up with everyone.
It was nice to go away and not have to organise much, apart from our departure times in NSW to COTM with things obviously in good hands from Graham (The Chief) and the Vic section especially Dot.
The NSW side had a good run down together apart from a bit of bad weather at the start and then also a close encounter from an Idiot kind close to our arrival at Albury, with 3 of our cars being run off the road by 2 cars in the chase who kind've ran out of room. Thanks to having radio's in each of the cars I think this helped us get away injury free.
Of course the accommodation was great in both Motels with one Manager being more than helpful looking after our cars with the sites of hail on it's way organising undercover parking. We'll be back next year for that.
It was quite evident the area was invaded by ole Chryslers and it was like driving around in yester year when every second Dad had a Chrysler.
They were in shopping centers, service stations every where on the road and if you couldnt see them you certainly didnt miss out on hearing some every now and then roaring by, it was great.
On Saturday the run to Beechworth was good and well worth the run for a Pie. Sorry no good reports on the Iced Chocolate tho
The country side tho very dry still ver picturesque.
The Hawiian night, come Fijian.....come Brazillian

whatever was a laugh with plenty of ........well varied forms of entertainment and a fundraiser for the VIC Fire victims went well I'm sure. Is there any more coffee mugs

Thanks Gayle...lol but the money went to a good cause.
The main event being the Sunday was a proud moment for all, as we travelled down together to the venue in which was a spectacular site on the empty freeway with all of our cars travelling together. We must include SA next time.
On arrival to the grounds I sensed everything stopped for a moment as we entered in our large numbers. I thought it was a grand entrance....very cool.
Congratulations to all that entered their cars be it for judging or just for display everyone did a good job.
I walked and talked until I was aching all over or was it because I near knocked myself out the day before while cleaning my car! ouch, but gee did I see some strange things. They sell absolutely anything there new or old.
Vic Members ran another fund raiser this time for the injured animals that were caught up in the recent fires. I hope that went well.
The weather for the day was absolutely perfect, with a bit of cloud, not to hot, not to cold. We were lucky this year.
So from there Gayle and I left early to head home to Wollongong. Down the road we got the message of the judging so certainly congrats goes to Deb with her She Devil, Girl Power, Red theme and to our David & Fiona with their Aqua PT & Trailer who have one I think their first trophy from a judge!
Strangely we got home and didnt need to wash the car at all which was quite unusual for a 500km stint. Just chamoid a few small insects off the bumper and dusted the wheels.
A very satisfying weekend.
